Newmarket farrier Mark Hones has notched up a highly unusual treble with the success of Sans Frontieres in the Irish St Leger.

His victory gives Mark a trio of St Leger wins over a fourteen year period.

His first winner was Shantou for John Gosden back in 1996.

Sixties Icon followed for Jeremy Noseda ten years later in 2006. The victory of Sans Frontieres in 2010, again for  Jeremy Noseda, completed the treble.

All Mark's winners were shod in Victory racing plates and Mark was presented with a bottle of champagne by Tony Lindsell of Atlantic Equine, UK importers of Victory racing plates, to commemorate his achievement.
